JACK’S HAND WRITTEN RECORDS

Before his Billiards final Jack is playing a number of exhibition games with Gladney Hoyle; presumably to keep his hand in as the season will be almost over. It doesn’t give the score of the final but in a handbook it says he lost 897 – 569, as Victor won his sixth title.

Jack beat Clifford Percvial in the Huddersfield Billiards Championship, but Clifford got his revenge by knocking Jack out of the English Snooker Championship at the semi-final stage. Clifford went on to beat F. Elton of Normanton in the final, to qualify for the Championship proper in London. He won his 1st and 2nd round matches 5-3 but lost 3-5 in the semi-final to the eventual winner, Harold Morris. His list started in October 1945 and finished in February 1947: that’s dedication if ever I saw it.

Along with records of his breaks, Jack also likes to keep records of other players. It could be in league or championship matches when he has played them – but that’s just a guess.

A summary of all Jack’s century, and three double century, breaks.

This must have been his rough draft before he wrote it out in a neater way on the page above.
